Nehemiah Community Development Corporation (NCDC) is a commercial corridor
revitalization non-profit that works with local stakeholders to bring community
desired services to the corridor. Nehemiah CDC collaborates with the
community on the physical
transformation and economic recovery of the corridor starting with Brookland
Park Boulevard. Nehemiah CDC will revitalize commercial
corridors through catalytic commercial building restoration projects that
provide services that are supported by the neighboring community.
This process
includes community engagement, developing partnerships with community
stakeholders, workforce development and employment and business attraction
efforts. We know that great organizations work with and through others to create
more impact than they could ever achieve alone.
As the surrounding neighborhoods take on new life, so can Brookland Park
Boulevard’s (BPB) business corridor by rebuilding, restructuring and reclaiming
a healthy, sustainable community focused business district.
Rebuilding Physically
This involves physical transformation of the corridor through building improvements and secondarily working with stakeholders on infrastructure and streetscape improvements such as sidewalk, lighting, and other environmental safety improvements.
Restructuring Economically
This involves business attraction. The corridor needs a diversity of businesses to meet the product and service needs of the BPB community. NCDC is promoting the corridor as an area to open businesses and is working with stakeholders to bring positive attention to the corridor.
Human Capital Development
NCDC will engage community members and partner with stakeholders to provide workforce development and employment in the project.
